How much meat do I need?
Choose how many of you there are and how hungry you are. We give you an approximate split.

How to set up the fire
- Prepare two zones: one with strong embers for searing and another without embers for cooking with indirect heat.
- Start with whatever takes longest (ribs, bone-in chicken) and leave the quick things (burgers, chops) for last.
- Take the meat out of the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking.
- Use tongs to turn it. Piercing the meat with a fork lets the juices out.

How much meat should I buy per person for a barbecue?
As a guide, about 400 grams of meat per person if there are other side dishes, and up to 550 grams if your guests eat a lot. Use the calculator on this page to split it between cuts.
What meat is best for a barbecue?
A mix works best: ribs or chops as the stars, marinated chicken or wings, burgers and some belly to nibble on while the fire settles.
